Neovius Surface

Neovius was a student of H.A. Schwarz who contructed this surface with 'Neovius' handles towards the edges of a box.

Another high-genus fullerene

I have given away three beautiful beaded models of HG-fullerenes (one to Z.-G. Shuai, one to Winnie Li, and one to M. Terrone) made by Chuang. This is the first HG-fullerene I have ever built. The structure of twelve necks consisting of 10 heptagons, which is essentially the same as the inner rim of a toroidal carbon nanotube with 120 carbon atoms. It is not hard to see how to connect these twelve necks into a dodecahedron.

Beaded Model for Neovius's Surface Decorated with Graphene

I made this model based on a recent post of C. Chuang. This model consists of one unit cell. It is a little hard to see how one can connect several unit cells together.

Here is the beaded model for the Chuang's recent design of the Schoen's I-WP surface.
